Alton Sterling shooting

We at Nass & Roper Law, PC are of course saddened by the new that someone was shot and killed at the hands of an officer. In this CNN article it talks about how the deadly shooting went down. The officer on top of Mr. Sterling's legs sees, or claims to see, a gun, whereby they open fire killing Mr. Sterling. A witness then sees an officer pull a gun out of Mr. Sterlings pocket. I am in no position to judge whether there actually was a gun there or whether it was planted. On its face it doesn't seem like it was planted and someone had called the police saying he had pulled a gun on them. So it is very unlikely that these officers will be indicted for what happened. Does that mean it is right? Of course not. But it does mean they will likely get off the hook.
